FAQ on Covid-19 Test

1. What are the Covid-19 testing available in Pathlab?
There are 2 types of Covid-19 tests available, Covid -19 RTK Antigen and Covid-19 RT-PCR

2. What are the differences between RT-PCR and RTK Antigen Test? Which Covid-19 test will be more accurate?
Covid-19 RTK Antigen is recognized by MOH as a rapid screening method for Covid-19 with sensitivity of 90%
Covid-19 RT-PCR is recognized by MOH as gold standard for Covid-19 diagnostic test

3. What are the steps taken during the procedure of Covid-19 testing?
For Covid-19 RTK Antigen test, nasopharyngeal swab, (swab sample from nostrils) will be taken
For Covid-19 RT-PCR test, nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab (swab sample from nostrils and throat) will be taken

4. How long does the swab procedure take?
The process will takes about 5 minutes, because the swab samples will be taken from nostrils and throat only

5. Which branch provides the service of Covid-19 testing?

6. How long will it take to get the Covid-19 test results?
For Covid-19 RTK Antigen, lab report will be emailed within 24 hours
For Covid-19 RT-PCR, lab report will be emailed within 48 hours
